Djerba–Zarzis (DJE). It is on the island, roughly 25 minutes from where we are staying. Tunis (TUN) is the capital’s airport on the mainland — a fine connection, but a six-hour drive if you stop there.

No. Flights are yours to book, in your name, on your card — we are not a travel agent, we take no commission, and we cannot be responsible for what an airline does. What we will happily do is look at your home city with you and tell you which route and which dates we would pick.

Arrive on 24 December, as early in the day as you can — that is check-in at the villa, foundations start the same day, and the first day sets up your build. The week ends with the quad trip on the 29th, so book your flight home for the 30 December. Booking out on the 28th means missing the best day.

Message us as soon as you know. Your seat is held and we will catch you up on whatever you missed. The money side is between you and the airline, which is the main reason to have travel insurance.

No, you take a taxi from DJE. They wait outside arrivals, and the ride to the villa is about 19 km, roughly 25 minutes, and about 20 dinars at most (around £5) on the meter by day; from 9pm to 5am fares are 50% higher. Agree the fare or check the meter before you set off.

British passport holders do not — Tunisia is visa-free for stays of up to 90 days. Your passport needs to be valid for the duration of your stay, and make sure you get an entry stamp. Border officers can ask for a return ticket and proof of where you are staying, so we send you a confirmation letter with the villa address once your seat is paid. Any other passport: check your own government’s advice early, and tell us if you need an invitation letter.

It is not included and we strongly recommend it — cancellation and medical cover at minimum. Arrange it when you book the flight, not the night before.

£599 per person. Book before 1 November 2026 and you take £100 off, so you pay £499. That covers six nights in the villa, the workspace and coffee, breakfast and dinner every day, the island excursion, the guided quad trip, 5 days of mentoring, and 4 weeks of office hours once you are home. Not covered: flights, travel insurance, lunches, and anything you spend in town.

In full, in one go, after the call — we don’t take deposits. There are eightseats and being accepted doesn’t hold one; payment does. Book before 1 November 2026 both to get the £100 off and because that is the date the full refund window closes.

The Tunisian dinar is a closed currency — you cannot buy it before you land and you cannot take it home. Withdraw or exchange at DJE arrivals when you get in. Cards work in hotels and larger restaurants; the medina, cafés and taxis are cash, and it does not take much of it.

Less than you think. If you’re comfortable in a terminal — ssh’ing into a server, setting things up, following an error until it’s fixed — you’ll keep up. You don’t need to write code from scratch or know anything about AI: day one starts at foundations. The short call is there to make sure the week fits you, and if it doesn’t, we’ll say so honestly.

You get 4 weeks of drop-in office hours, included in the price. One call a week starting the first week of January— turn up with whatever is broken, or don’t turn up at all. Week one back home is where most projects quietly die, so this is the part we would keep if we had to cut everything else.

Bring one if you have it — we scope it on the first morning and you spend the week shipping it. If you do not, we have a shortlist of builds that fit five days, and we will pick one with you.

In a private villa near the beach on Djerba’s north-east coast, with a pool, a garden, a terrace and a sea view. You stay together in the villa, which is half the point of the week.

Breakfast and dinner are included and organised every day, so you never have to think about it. Tell us about allergies or dietary requirements when you book and we will handle it — vegetarian and halal are straightforward here.

The villa has high-speed wifi and that is what we build on. Bring a backup anyway: a local eSIM or a SIM from Ooredoo or Orange Tunisia at the airport costs a few dinars and gives you data across the island.

Laptop and charger, and a European two-pin adapter — Tunisia runs 230V on Type C/E sockets, the same plug as France. Layers: December on Djerba is mild, mid-to-high teens in the day and around 10°C once the sun is down, so bring a jacket for the evenings. Passport, card, and swim stuff if you are brave about the sea in winter.

Yes. Tunisia is a Muslim-majority country and 25 December is an ordinary working day here — the island is open, quiet and mild. If spending Christmas heads-down on a build sounds wrong to you, this is not your week. If it sounds like a relief, it is.

Cancel before 1 November 2026 and you get a full refund, no reason needed. On or after that date we cannot refund you — the villa and the food are booked and paid for by then — but you can pass your seat to someone else, and we will switch the name over at no charge once they have done the same short call.
